A little premature, I know  I thought it would be nice to have a space to check in, say hi, see how others are doing. Maybe vent a little bit, or share your joys and triumphs. Maybe you found a great new recipe (or book) or saw a new movie. Maybe today, everyone else in the house is out and you just wanted to decompress with a glass of wine and talk with some friends. Hopefully, this is the thread where you can do that. I'll start....... |

Well it is once again a damn cold day - we've had a record breaking winter in Ottawa and I for one am fed up. Our canal has been open a record number of days, with absolutely no closures, and temperatures have been 10 - 15 degrees Celsius or more below the historical records every single day  And, omg, I just realized my eyes are getting old enough that I can't quite tell exactly what expressions the emojis are making. Getting my daughter ready for her trip to Germany next week, and the other will be off to Calgary the following week. Happy to have this forum to reconnect with old friends, and hopefully make some new ones!

Trip to Germany? What city will she go to? I'm sure she wants the Ottawa winter back when she arrives in our rainy weather... So, how was my day?  Just kidding, I'm working on an easy programming part right now |

She's going to Leipzig for a few days and then on to Prague. This is a school trip - she goes to an arts high school (she's in vocals), so their school will be playing with German and Czech bands and choirs. I can't remember everything on the itinery, but I know they are going to a J.S. Bach museum in Leipzig (maybe his place of birth?). Rachel's vocal coach is Czech so she's really excited/jealous about this opportunity.

Great! Thanks for starting the March thread. I use to love these! I just got back from traveling; from New Jersey to DC and back to NJ again-all within 24 hours time. I just had a long day in general. Looks like I'm behind on my reading here... Will catch up tomorrow.
But to echo Frogmommy, I am also very happy to have this place. It's an escape, able to let loose and not be judged, and just make friends. I am really hoping new forum member will join the chatter and become part of this community.

i dont have much to report, being run ragged at work, but im redesigning some of my spreadsheets and making them super duper complex and useful... im having fun! (i know such a geek right? lol)
haha you are learning programming? for games?
and froggy, i dont envy you that winter in the slightest!

Lulu how you can make fancy schmancy spread sheets in excel but not be able to upload an image is beyond me. Try using Imgur if you don't have Photobucket anymore and copy and paste the BB code link. Btw, proboards is super easy to use Annie - I love it. |

I know Froggy will laugh at this. We planned to go visit my daughter in Oklahoma this weekend but we aren't going because of snow in Texas and Oklahoma. Texans just don't know how to drive in snow. Texans just don't believe in driving slow and not jamming on the brakes so we are safer staying home. We'll go in a couple of weeks.
